LANCASTER, PA - The Valley Forge Christian College men's soccer team dropped their final East Region contest of the regular season, falling by a final score fo 9-0 to the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday. With this loss the Patriots will hold the lowest seed for the post-season East Region tournament and will have to vie for the title playing on the road.
The Chargers got things rolling quickly, scoring their first goal in the fouth minute. By the midpoint of the first half the Patriots found themselves down 3-0 and were in a seven goal deficit by the halftime break.
Freshman goalie Robert Taylor was able to stop seven of the Chargers' sixteen shots-on-goal for the day, but a defensive presence on the field played a hearty role in the Valley Forge loss.Their offensive struggles contined as well as, the Patriots have scored just two goals in their past five games.
The team will take the next week off to heal and regroup on the field before their next contest on Tuesday, October 8 when they travel to Delaware Valley College looking to steal a game and get back in the win column. The Aggies currently sit at 4-5-1 on the season. Kick-off is scheudled for 3:30 pm.
