PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The Valley Forge Christian College men's soccer team lost on Thursday to Washington Adventist University (Tacoma Park, MD), by a 7-0 final score.
There were not many Patriot highlights on the day. The Shock controlled the game from start to finish. Valley Forge found themselves in a 3-0 hole at the half, and with a short bench, could not find their legs in the second.
Jonathan Manning had the only good scoring attempt for the Patriots, and it came in the first half. He added a second shot on a kick off from midfield that was just wide of the net.
Robert Taylor gave his best effort to keep the game close and recorded 14 saves in the process.
Head Coach Vernon Dorsey said after the game, "Despite the score my defense played great. All four defenders, Jake, Ryan, Jared and Aaron played very well.
Aaron Bishop has been playing exceptionally well lately."
The Patriots are back on the road again on Saturday, September 28 when they travel to Berkley College (Newark, NJ) for an 8 pm game under the lights.
