PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The women's volleyball team allowed errors to get the best of them as they lost in four sets to Penn College of Technology, Thursday, September 19.
The Lady Patriots came out in the first set to an astounding 12 point and three points from winning. Suddenly the tables took a drastic turn as the ladies made a string of errors and allowed the Wildcats to claim the first set, 24-26.
Second set brought back the fight in the team, claiming the game with tough defense from Katie Clarke and Courtney Farabee. The frontline was able to limit their errors and attack to take the set, 25-19.
The Lady Patriots reverted back to the errors seen in set one, powerless at the net to finish the ball and find their footing on defense to hand the match over to the Wildcats, 14-25 and 13-25.
"We played on our heels, reacting to the Wildcats instead of controlling the game attacking on our side. We know we can play better and we have a lot of season left to play to prove it to ourselves and those around us." stated Head Women's Volleyball Coach Amanda Gauthier.
Courtney Farabee added 18 digs to her season count while Katie Clarke earned 18 digs, two solo blocks, three block assists and five kills.
The Patriots stay at home for their last game of the week, hosting Davis College on Saturday, September 21, at 1 pm. The Lady Patriots played the Falcons in their first game of the season and lost, 1-3. The team looks to even the score and record a win on Saturday!
Go Patriots!
