ABINGTON, PA.- Although they were unable to take the match, the Lady Patriots continued to show improvement in their season as they captured a set from Penn State Abington on Thursday, September 12, falling 1-3 in the end.
Last season the Lady Patriots were swept in three by the Lions, but were determined to not go down without a fight. Strong serving plus exploiting the Lion's errors gave the Patriots the first set. Unfortunately, the momentum went back to the host school as Penn State Abington forced several receiving errors to jump out to an outstanding lead to take set two. In sets three and four, the Patriots defended their floor, digging up attack after attack, but with the offense unable to finish, the Lions captured the sets and the win.
Courtney Farabee ended the night with 26 digs.
Katie Clarke had six kills, three aces and 11 digs.
The Patriots travel to College of St. Elizabeth on Sunday, September 15 for the next match. The Screaming Eagles host the Patriots at 1 pm.
Go Patriots!
