PHOENIXVILLE, PA- On Saturday, September 14, the Valley Forge Christian College men's soccer team traveled to compete against Baptist Bible College in an East Region match-up. Both teams were looking to snap their slump but it would be the Defenders who would walk away with the win, defeating the Patriots by a final score of 0-4.
For the first 22 minutes the teams were evenly matched, taking multiple shots at the net. Finally at the 22:09 minute mark, the Defenders went on the board. From there, the damage continued as the host team scored once more in the first half and two goals in second. The Patriots continued to attack on offense but were unable to capitalize on their efforts.
Jonathan Manning played strong, taking seven shots and two shots on goal.
Matt McKenzie had three shots and one shot on goal.
The Patriots return home for their next match to host Penn College of Technology on Monday, September 16. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 pm.
