In an East Region matchup against the Cairn Highlanders and Valley Forge Christian College Patriots, the Highlanders managed to get the upper hand on the host school, defeating the Patriots, 0-6.
In one of the hottest playing days of the season, the Patriots battled against the heat and a deep Cairn bench. Despite the challenges, the Patriots' defense held a strong with goalkeeper Robert Taylor recording seven saves in the first half and allowing just one goal.
After the break, exhaustion began to set in for the Patriots as Cairn was able to continually sub their players out. Ten minutes after the beginning of the second period, the Highlanders fired shot after shot, making four goals within 15 minutes and securing a solid lead to take the game.
The Patriots take two days to rest before traveling to Clarke Summit, Pa. to take on another East Region competitor, Baptist Bible College. The game is set to start at 3 pm.
Go Patriots!
