PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The Lady Patriots hoped to send off their seniors with a final home victory, Saturday, October 19. Regrettably, the Patriot's couldn't manage to overcome The King's offense and fell in three sets.
Offensively, the ladies were able to record 26 kills in the match, but a mixture of service errors and slow transitioning allowed the opponent to stay just out of reach. In the first set, the ladies seemed frozen on the court as the Tigers jumped out to an astonishing start, leading the host school 4-17. The Patriots battled back, but with no room for error they could not catch up and fell, 19-25.
In the second set the Patriots were able to sustain a small lead, but three points away from capture the game, the Patriots let up and the Tigers the go ahead and gave up the second set, 25-27.
Set three remained close, but with the Lady Patriots starting from behind again, every mistake kept them further from victory. The ladies were defeated by just three points by the end of the set, 22-25.
At the beginning of the game the Department of Athletics honored four seniors from the women's volleyball team. Four year player Courtney Farabee, three year player Carli Kile and first year player Kim Cramer, along with three year statistician, Liz Whitman.
The volleyball team and the Department of Athletics dedicated this game to the Arts and Science Department for their endless dedication to the students and college.
