BALTIMORE, MD- The women's volleyball team underwent a frustrating three-set loss to host school, College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Wednesday, October 16.
It appeared that nothing was going right for the Lady Patriots. Getting off to the slowest start all season, the Patriots were able to only record four kills in set one but matched it with four errors. Combined with blocking errors and ball handling errors, the first set came to a quick close, 6-25.
The second set proved to be just as difficult for the Patriots as the offense could only achieve five kills. The Patriots defense failed to get into position fast enough and left enough gaps for the Gators to grab set two, 11-25.
In the third set the Patriots fought back, going point for point and pulled the Gators out of system to run their offense. While the ladies were able to stay right with the host school in score, the Patriots ended up playing more defense than offense and could not gain the lead. The set and match finally came to a close with a final score of 22-25.
The Patriots play their final home game of the season against The King's College, Saturday, October 19. The Lady Patriots play host to the Tigers at 11 am.Â
Go Patriots!
