PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The Valley Forge Christian College women's volleyball team encountered another three-set loss on Tuesday, September 30 to the Cedar Crest Falcons.
The first set presented a struggle for the Lady Patriots as the Falcons jumped out to a double-digit lead. Despite putting up a strong defense, the Patriots defense was slow to react and failed to finish. The Falcons took set one, 12-25.
Set two revealed a tougher side of the Patriots, finally putting together a string of kills to keep up with Falcons. The score would tie four times, but for every time the Patriots would match the Falcons, an unforced error would occur allowing the visitors to just get out of reach and lose the set, 20-25.
Moving back to the other side, the Patriots mirrored their actions from set one. Tough defense kept the ladies alive for a little while, but failure to attack correctly from the offense, compiled with serving errors led to the Patriots down fall and gave the match to the Falcons, 15-25.
Katie Clarke finished the night with eight kills and three aces.
Courtney Farabee dominated in the back with 17 digs.
The Patriots stay at home for their next competition, hosting a tri-match between Trinity Washington University Tigers and East Region Rival, Baptist Bible College Defenders. The Patriots play the Defenders at 4pm and the Tigers at 8pm.
Go Patriots!
