Through-out the first half the Cougars would extend their lead, only to have the Patriots chip away at it. With just under six minutes to go, the Patriots were down 11-20. Strong defense and precise shots helped the Patriots go on a 8-0 run and cut the lead to 19-20. As time wore down, the Cougars managed to keep a slight lead going into the break, 27-31.
Into the second half, the Patriots continued to chase the Cougars for the lead. Several times the Patriots found themselves just two points from tying the game, but various turnovers and lack of aggression on the boards left them behind. The game would end with a final score of 56-65.
