Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Patriots Cruise To Victory!

PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The Valley Forge Christian College women's basketball hosted the College of Notre Dame Maryland today, January 19, 2013.  The Patriots cruised to victory, defeating the Lady Gators with a final score of 67-32.

Looking to bounce back from their loss to East Region rival, Baptist Bible College, the Patriots started off the game right, with a layup by Senior Whitney LaPointe, three seconds into the first half.  From that point on, the ladies played as a solid team, pressuring on defense and converting on offense.  At 14:31 the Patriots hit their stride, going on a 21-3 run, making the score 34-8.  The Ladies held their lead into the break, 41-10.

A great moment for the team came just before the end of the first half, senior forward Amanda Compton scored on a layup, recording her 1,001th points!

Into the second half, the Patriots shooting percentage only went up, going from 53% to 60% and continual pressure on defense held the Gators off.  The coaching staff was able to give the bench ample playing time, scoring a total of 15 points for their team.
