PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The Valley Forge men were less than pleased with their performance on Monday (Jan. 3), but they were able to earn the victory nonetheless.
Penn State Brandywine, entering the game with a 2-8 overall record, was able to hang with the Patriots for much of the contest. The Patriots held a slim margin at the break (34-32) and didn't really turn things around until late in the second half.
Having not played a game since December 11th didn't seem to be justification enough for 13 first-half Valley Forge turnovers. They managed to clean things up a little bit in the second half, but late in the game the carelessness seemed to seep in again.
To the Patriots' credit, they managed to finish the game with 23 assists, as they continue to employ a balanced scoring attack. Five players reached double-digits in scoring.
