READING, PA – The Valley Forge Christian College men's basketball team earned another non-league victory on Tuesday (Jan. 25), when they took on Penn State Berks.
Despite giving up the second-highest point total of the season (85) to an opponent, the Patriots managed the victory.
Paced by juniors
Michael Stum and
Justin Kinsey, the Patriots were able to put points on the board en route to their fourth consecutive victory.
Michael Stum (Manheim, PA, Manheim Central High School) recorded season-high 35 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and a block, earning him his fourth double-double of the season. Stum shot an incredible 16-for-18 from the field.
Justin Kinsey (Philadelphia, PA, International Christian High School) nearly notched a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists.
The Patriots completely dominated on the boards, out-rebounding Penn State Berks, 42-20.
However, they also committed 23 turnovers, which Penn State Berks converted into an easy 26 points. That element of the game is something the Patriots hope to clean up as they enter the next stretch of games.
Senior
Andrew Godwin (Fairfax, VA, Fairfax High School) pumped in 11 points, which included a few three-pointers.
Freshman
Isaac Ransom (East Barre, VT, Websterville Baptist Christian School) also reached double figures with 10 points.
