PHOENIXVILLE, PA - Men's basketball head coach, Jon Mack, is pleased to announce the addition of a new…assistant coach! Jared Bornman, a former VFCC men's basketball All-American who was coached by and played aside Jon Mack, will be joining the 2010-2011 men's basketball coaching staff.
Jared Bornman was a phenomenal player (1998-2003) and 1,000 point scorer for the Patriots. The 6'4” forward was known for his solid post footwork and a very nice touch around the rim. He provided a strong inside presence and complemented his inside game with a nice midrange jump shot.
Back in 2003, Jared played alongside assistant men's basketball coach, Ronshea Vargas, and VFCC's current head women's basketball coach, Reg Chapple.
Coach Jared's contributions are going to be felt across the board, but returning forwards are really going to benefit from his tutelage.
“Players are going to respond to him,” said Ronshea Vargas, “Having him on staff is going to change the dynamics of practice. I believe that his presence in practices and at games is going to make our team stronger.”
Since graduating from VFCC, Coach Jared lived in Arizona and North Carolina. He recently moved back into the area and resides in West Chester, PA.
Jared is excited for the opportunity to coach. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the game and is a great addition.
