GLASSBORO, NJ – The Valley Forge Christian College men's basketball team defeated Rowan University for the first time in school history on Thursday (Dec. 2), 77-68.
The Patriots jumped out early and led by as many as 22 points late in the second half. However, the Rowan University Profs would claw their way back into the contest.
Four players reached double-digits in scoring.
Senior
Shawn Taylor (Philadelphia, PA, USC Aiken) led the Patriots with a well-rounded performance. Taylor notched a team-high 17 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
Junior
Justin Kinsey (Philadelphia, PA, Manor College) tallied 15 points and three assists.
Junior
Michael Stum (Manheim, PA, Manheim Central High School) earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior
James Franklin (Philadelphia, PA, Lackawanna College) recorded 11 points.
Sophomore
Donnell Davis (Chesapeake, VA, Calvary Christian) handed out five assists.
Junior
Latrell Alford (Crisfield, MD, Community College of Baltimore County - Cantonsville) finished the game with eight rebounds and four blocked shots.
With the victory the Patriots improve to an 8-3 overall record.
