PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The Valley Forge Christian College men's basketball team concluded their 3-day home basketball tournament with an impressive 101-47 victory over Davis College.
The Patriots, who had not been shooting particularly well from the three-point line on the season, shot a blazing 84.6% (11-13) against Davis College.
When freshman Lance Harris caught fire, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc, there was very little that the Davis Falcons could do.
The Patriots held a 53-19 halftime advantage and never looked back.
Senior Kevin Wilson (Farmington, CT, Hesser College) finished with a game-high 20 points. Wilson also tallied three assists, and two steals.
Freshman Lance Harris (Baltimore, MD, Grace Bible Baptist Christian School) earned 19 points and three assists.
Junior Michael Stum (Manheim, PA, Manheim Central High School) earned 12 points and seven rebounds.
Senior Andrew Godwin (Fairfax, VA, Fairfax High School) tacked on 10 points.
Senior Shawn Taylor (Philadelphia, PA, USC Aiken) added a game-high 10 rebounds in nine minutes.
Sophomore Steve Sims (Womelsdorf, PA, Abington High School) earned his game-high four steals, in just eight minutes of action.
Junior James Franklin (Philadelphia, PA, Lackawanna College) tallied five assists.
Valley Forge held Davis College to 29.8% (17-57) shooting from the floor, and 11.1% (2-18) from the perimeter, both season lows for a Valley Forge opponent.
With the victory, the Patriots improve to a 5-3 overall win-loss record.
