In June 2019, Ryan Gottier was hired as Head Women’s Soccer Coach, as well as the Sport Management Program Director for the University of Valley Forge.
Prior to Valley Forge, Gottier was the Director of Coaching for Chester Springs United Soccer Club in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. During his time in Chester Springs, Gottier was responsible for managing, and training all coaching staff, as well as supervising all day-to-day operations. In addition, Gottier was the General Manager for 360 Sports Soccer Club; his duties included hiring and managing all trainers, scheduling all staff, and overseeing the promotion, curriculum, and completion of the program.
Before coming to Pennsylvania, Gottier was the Executive Director of Quincy United Soccer Club in Quincy, Illinois (2013-2018). Throughout his time at Quincy, Gottier provided direction in club structure, partnered with local soccer and youth associations, and assisted in fundraising.
Gottier began his college coaching career at Hannibal-LaGrange Univeristy in Hannibal, Missouri as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach (2013-2016). While coaching at Hannibal-LaGrange, Gottier helped lead the team to the American Midwest Conference in 2013, with a regular season championship in 2016. Throughout his career in Hannibal, Gottier and the Trojans went 42-26-9.
Gottier graduated from Liberty Univesity in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. In 2014, Gottier graduated from Ohio University with a Master of Science in Athletic Administration. Gottier has also earned his USSF C, D, and E Licenses, NSCAA Premier, Advanced National Diplomas, USYS National Youth Diploma and Goalkeeping 1 and 2 Licenses.
Originally from Linfield, Pennsylvania, Gottier now resides in Phoenixville with his wife Katelyn, and their son Rory. With his spare him, Gottier enjoys distance running, as well as supporting any Philadelphia sports team.
