Teelah Grimes is in her second year as Associate Director of Athletics at Valley Forge.
Grimes returns to Valley Forge after spending a year at Robert Morris University (Moon Township, PA) as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. Prior to Robert Morris, Grimes spent three years at Valley Forge as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach (2015-2018), and two years as the Director of Compliance, and Sport Management Program Director (2016-2018).
During her time as the Assistant Coach at Valley Forge, Grimes helped lead the Patriots to a 34-14 overall record, including an American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
From 2012-2016, Grimes served as the Head Basketball Coach at Smithtown Christian School (Smithtown, NY). Prior to Smithtown, Grimes was the Director of Compliance at Dowling College (Dowling, NY) from 2008-2012. She stepped into that role after serving as a Graduate Assistant a year prior (2007-2008).
Grimes graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education/Social Sciences in 2007. During her time at Dowling, Grimes was a member of the women’s basketball team, where she was an All-East Coast Conference (ECC) Second Team selection her senior year, ECC’s NCAA Division II National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, and the ECC’s NCAA Woman of the Year nominee following her senior season.
Grimes continued her education at Dowling as she received a Master of Science Degree in Literacy Education in 2010. In 2016, Grimes earned another Master’s Degree from Liberty University in Sport Management with a concentration in Sport Administration.
In December 2018, Grimes participated in the Gameday the DIII Way – Ambassadors Training hosted by the NCAA and The Disney Institute. Grimes is also an active member of the NCAA Division III Nominating Committee.
A Middle Island, New York native, Grimes currently resides in Royersford, and enjoys both biking and hiking.
