Background

Herman was named the University of Valley Forge head baseball coach in summer 2023. He previously served as pitching coach at NCAA Division II Chestnut Hill College since 2019, with over 15 years of collegiate and high school coaching experience. Herman spent four seasons as Phoenixville High School's head coach from 2016-2019, making the PIAA District playoffs each year and setting the school's best winning percentage in 2018. He coached for the Quakertown Blazers in 2019 and held assistant roles at West Chester University from 2009-2011 and Delaware County Community College in 2008-2009. A Lock Haven University graduate, Herman played baseball and football before earning a master's in Positive Coaching from Missouri. An Army Infantry veteran and former combatives instructor, he resides with his son, Nolan, in East Coventry, Pennsylvania.
