PHOENIXVILLE, PA – September 3, 2025 – The University of Valley Forge women's soccer team earned their first victory of the 2025 season with an impressive 3-1 triumph over Penn State Schuylkill at The Patriot Field on Wednesday evening.
After a closely contested first half that ended 1-1, the Patriots turned up the intensity in the second period, scoring two unanswered goals to pull away for the decisive victory.
Standout Performances Lead the Way
Junior forward Kathryne Conrad delivered a stellar performance, recording two goals and one assist while taking five shots on the afternoon. Her leadership on the field was instrumental in the Patriots' offensive success.
Olivia Arroyo contributed significantly to the victory with one assist, while Danielle Horne added a crucial goal to help seal the win for Valley Forge.
Between the posts, goalkeeper Abigail Wood was outstanding, making 21 saves throughout the match to preserve the victory. Wood's exceptional performance in goal kept Penn State Schuylkill at bay during critical moments of the game.
Dominant Second Half Display
The Patriots showed tremendous character and determination, outscoring their opponents 2-0 in the second half after entering the break tied 1-1. Valley Forge's ability to maintain composure and execute their game plan in the final 45 minutes demonstrated the team's growth and potential for the season ahead.
The Patriots exceeded Penn State Schuylkill 33-22 for the match and controlled much of the tempo throughout the contest.
