On August 31st, Valley Forge hosted Alfred State college at a Gallaudet State University tournament in an action-packed men's soccer match that ended with a final score of 9-1 in favor of Alfred State. The high scoring game featured a show of offensive skill from both teams. In less than aminute into the game, Jack Leahy of Alfred State scored the opening goal with a header from a corner kick, which was assisted by Ali Mata-Ruiz. The two standout performers in this match were Nathan Kalapa of Valley Forge and Abdi Farham of Alfred State. Abdi finished with a goal at the 57' mark and assisted on a goal by TJ Brackett at the 61' mark. Nathan Kalapa finished with a penalty kick goal for Valley Forge at the 58' mark. With this game in the books, Valley Forge is now 0-2 and they look to seek their first season win next Wednesday as they travel to Schuylkill Haven to face Penn State Schuylkill.
