Game Recap: Softball |

Patriot’s Secure Win Against York College

Softball took on York College in a double header back on March 16th. They put together two great games! Only letting up one run all day and taking the games 15-0 and 17-1!

Laura Medio was in the circle to start the day. She went 5 clean innings, only giving up 3 hits and 2 walks, while gathering together 6 strikeouts. An Ava Page single in the bottom of the first brought the Patriots' first run across and they never looked back from there. The second inning saw six more runs. Which was started off with an Ashlynn Kunes single to center field and a Caitlyn Fisher triple. The third inning saw Valley Forge more than double their score, going up 15-0. This game was an offensive onslaught! Every single starter scored at least 1 run for the Patriots and five collected RBIs. Caitlyn Fisher had herself a day, going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Harley Wakeman and Ashlynn Kunes also led the pack in RBI posting 2 apiece.

Harley Wakeman got the start in the circle in the 2nd game of the doubleheader. Going 5 innings, giving up just 3 hits and 1 run while posting 9 Strikeouts!! The offense dominated once again, posting 17 runs in the 1st inning alone. Caitlyn Fisher started off the game with a home run! Followed up by 3 different RBI singles which led to 5 more runs scored. Triples by Laura Medio and Ashlynn Kunes later in the inning brought in the 12th, 13th, and 14th runs of the inning. The offense wrapped up the 1st with a 17-0 lead. A 4th inning run by York cut the lead to 16, but that is where it finished. Valley Forge won the second game of the day and collected the sweep!

Ava Page and Caitlyn Fisher both collected 3 hits and 3 RBI in the second game. With four others with 2 hits! In total, the Patriots collected 23 hits on the day!

Softball goes on the road on March 19th to take on Lancaster Bible College in a doubleheader!
