Men's Basketball went up against Keystone College this past Wednesday February 14th. Not only was it Senior Night, but our Patriots had a chance to qualify for the United East playoffs with a win! Our four seniors showed out and were able to guide us to a comfortable 84-63 win!
Both sides were neck and neck to start the game until Valley Forge pulled in front to take an 8 point lead thanks to multiple jumpers by Jeremiah Daye. A run that included a three and a couple free throws by Keyshawn Kennedy bought a 12 point lead to make it 22-10. Keystone brought the score within 7 before our Patriots pulled away again behind another jumper by Jeremiah Daye and layups by Nasir Bernard and Dashawn Goodine. Valley Forge went on to take the 36-30 lead going into the half. An early free throw and a jumper put Valley Forge on the board in the second half. Keystone cut the lead to 5 with 16 minutes left in the game before back-2-back three pointers by Jeremiah Daye and Nathan Whisman gave the Patriots a 9 point lead. Another huge three brought the lead to 12 and Valley Forge was able to pull away from there. With just under 4 minutes to go, Aaron Boone drained a free throw and sank a layup to bring the lead to over 20! The whole team brought something to the table to finish the game, completing the blowout and securing a spot in the playoffs!
Congratulations to Men's Basketball and our Seniors Keyshawn Kennedy, Jeremiah Daye, Aaron Boone, and Jason Bontemps on a fantastic season!
Jeremiah Daye led in scoring (23), Dashawn Goodine led in assists (5) and rebounds (9).
