The University of Valley Forge Softball team opened up its 2023 season this past week. The Patriots secured their first wins of the season in dominant fashion over Yeshiva University. In the First game of the season the Patriots scored 14 runs on 14 hits. Pitcher
Laura Medio threw her second career No-Hitter and led the Patriots on the mound. Medio struck out 14 of the 17 batters she faced and was tremendously efficient in having only thrown 70 pitches for the outing.
The Patriots also swept Yeshiva and took game two of their doubleheader against them.
Ronae Young led the Patriots on the mound with 4 innings pitches and 6 strikeouts. The Patriots offense exploded for 17 hits and put up 20 runs.
After week 1 the Patriots next face Brooklyn College on 3/18.
