Phoenixville, PA | On Saturday afternoon, the University of Valley Forge Women's Basketball team hosted the Ravens of Rosemont College. The Patriots and Ravens played one another closely throughout the contest, but late two-way pressure gave Rosemont their eventual edge.
Beyond the Box Score
After a back and forth game that fed a 36-36 score midway through the third quarter, Rosemont converted on three consecutive trips down the court to create a late advantage. The Ravens closed out the third frame strong to maintain a seven point lead.
With minutes left on the fourth quarter clock, an
Olivia Rochkind driving layup and a
Kaionna Hanna corner triple cut the deficit to a single possession before Rosemont responded with a head-on three and free throws to stave off the Patriots momentarily.
Valley Forge showed some resiliency, battling back to a 2 point game in the final 30 seconds, before a single free throw attempt earned the Ravens a 3 point lead. The Patriots forced a jump ball to gain possession with 8 seconds, but they failed to get off a potential game tying shot attempt.
