Patriots Late Rally Not Enough For Home Opener
Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer suffered a home defeat to the Bison of Gallaudet on Thursday afternoon. Despite the Patriots posting 2 second half goals, the Bison added a late goal to secure the win over the Patriots, 4-2.
The Bison were able to score first to take a 1-0 advantage in the 24^th minute. Additionally, they were able to strike again in the 26^th and 43^rd minutes, changing the scoreboard to 3-0.
The Patriots were successfully able to shift the momentum in the second half. One goal scored by Michael Kalapala and a second goal added by John Sumo got the Patriots within striking distance. However the Bison were able to strike back to seal the game at 4-2.
With the loss, the Patriots start out 0-1 however they get right back in action on Saturday when they take on Alfred State in another home match.
