Fairless Hills, PA – The University of Valley Forge Softball team traveled to Conwell-Egan High School in Fairless Hills for a conference matchup with the Highlanders of Cairn University. The Highlanders dominated both games with final scores of 3-13, and 0-16.
GAME ONE: 13-3 CAIRN
The Highlanders struck first with a solo run in the first-inning on 1 hit and 1 Patriot error. Valley Forge responded with a sol run of their own in the top of the second. However, Cairn rallied an impressive 7-run inning in the bottom of the second to change the score, 8-1. The Patriots pulled a 2-run inning in the top half of the third on 3 hits;
Destynie Blythers,
Maribell Dominguez, and
Morgan Bieler tallied one hit a-piece. Sitting at 8-3, Cairn collected 3 runs on 3 hits and 1 Valley Forge error in the bottom half of the fifth, and 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 error in the fourth for a 13-3 final score.
Dominguez led the team with two hits.
GAME TWO: 16-0 CAIRN
Cairn dominated game two with 16 runs on 11 hits, while the Patriots only tallied one lone hit.
