Phoenixville, PA – With the last home competition for the season, the University of Valley Forge Men's Volleyball team hosted the Eagles of St. Elizabeth University for a conference double-header on Thursday evening. The Patriots dropped both matches to the Eagles (25-8, 25-12, 25-15) (25-20, 25-20, 25-20).
MATCH ONE: SEU 3, UVF 0
Despite it being St. Elizabeth's first match of the season, the Eagles dominated the Patriots with their experience, tallying an impressive .338 attacking percentage. St. Elizabeth took three consecutive sets with scores of 25-8, 25-12, and 25-15.
As a unit, Valley Forge collected 9 kills on 58 attempts.
Ryan Deschaine led the team in kills (3), while
David Fletcher notched a team-high 2 aces and 6 assists.
MATCH TWO: SEU 3, UVF 0
The second game of the night was a much closer contest as the Patriots were 5-points shy of a win in all three sets.
Fletcher led the Patriots in kills (7), while
Ryan Deschaine added two service aces to his stats.
Paul Brown tallied 11 assists, while
Jordan Kieffer notched 11 digs as the libero.
The Patriots will look to bounce back as they travel to St. Elizabeth University on Saturday, April 24
th for post-season play.
