Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Men's Basketball team played host to the Bobcats of Bryant and Stratton Rochester on Saturday afternoon. UVF fell by a final score of 68-56.
Offensively, Valley Forge was led by

Aaron Hill opened the game with a three that gave the Patriots a quick 3-0 lead. The Bobcats quickly went on a 6-0 run to go up by 3. Hill put a stop to the run when he drained his 2nd three to tie the game at 6 in the early stages. Moments later however, Bryan and Stratton used a 7-0 scoring run to open up an 8-point lead with 13 minutes left to play in the half. After UVF was able to chip away at the deficit,
Rafael Smith and
Steven Eng each connected on baskets to bring the Patriots to within 3 with 8:21 remaining in the half. The theme continued. Anytime the Patriots were able to narrow the margin, the Bobcats answered. Bryant and Stratton managed to close out the first half with a 7-3 run to give them a 36-27 lead at the intermission.
The Bobcats were able to build a 15-point lead during the first 10 minutes of the second half. Valley needed desperately to start seeing shots fall in order for them to get back in the game. After scooping up his own rebound,
Aaron Hill drove to the lane for an easy layup. On the next Bobcat possession, Hill made a steal and raced down the floor for another easy layup and after a pair of
Steven Eng free throws, the Patriots were down by a score of 59-50 with a little over 4 minutes remaining.
Aaron Hill continued to torture the Bryant and Stratton defense. Hill knocked down a pair of threes on back to back UVF possessions that would bring the Patriots to within 6. Unfortunately for UVF, the Bobcats were able to close out the game on a 6-0 run. Valley Forge fell by a final score of 68-56.
