Game Recap | Women's Softball | March 19, 2018

PHEONIXVILLE, PA. – The University of Valley Forge Patriots (0-5) entered the game looking for their first win of the season against the Rosemont College Ravens (5-3).

Game 1 – Patriots 1, Ravens 11
Game Summary – The Patriots took the lead early as LeSueur scored on a throwing error. Ravens soon followed. Sharkey singled up the middle resulting in an RBI, Buccigrossi advanced to second, then Whalen scored on a fielding error by short stop to end the first inning. The Ravens went on to add 10 more runs in between the fourth and fifth inning. The Ravens held the Patriots to zero runs.
 
Game 2 – Patriots 1, Highlanders 9
Game Summary – The Ravens started the game strong. Hall, Lynch, Buccigrossi and Fillmore scored early. The patriots failed to respond in the first and second inning. At the top of the third inning Buccigrossi singled to shortstop, advanced to second on a throwing error by short stop which resulted in an RBI allowing Whalen to score. This was followed by three scores in the fourth by Brocollini, Lynch and Hall giving the Ravens a 9-0 lead. Although the Patriots scored in the fifth inning, it was a little too late for a comeback.
 
Up Next – Your Valley Forge Patriots will travel to compete against the Trinity Washington University Tigers on Friday March 23^rd  at 4PM/6PM.
