Phoenixville, PA – Valley Forge welcomed the Medgar Evers Cougars to UVF on a Saturday morning in their last regular season game in 2018. The Patriots overpowered the Cougars en route to a 10-0 shutout on senior day.
It took
Alondra Hernandez-Garduno less than 8 minutes to record her 4th hat-trick and goal numbers 20, 21 and 22 for the 2018 season. The Patriots jumped out to a 3-0 lead. UVF added to their lead in the 25th minute when
Emily Hinton's shot was too much for the Cougar keeper to handle. Hinton's shot bounced off the keeper and trickled into the back of the net. Three minutes later, after tallying 3 assists earlier in the contest,
Carlee Conrad scored her 3rd goal of the year to give the Patriots a commanding 5-0 lead. Valley Forge continued to pour it on. The Patriots received goals from
Olivia Strohm and
Giselle Rojas to give UVF a 7-0 halftime lead.
In the second half,
Emily Hinton was able to complete her hat-trick by scoring goals in the 65th and 81st minutes. Wrapping up the scoring for Valley Forge was
Olivia Strohm. Strohm scored in the 86th minute to send UVF to their 5th win in their last 6 chances. The Patriots wrapped up their season with a 10-0 win and improved their record to 9-5 on the year.
