Beaver Falls, PA - The Patriots Men's Basketball team traveled to Beaver Falls, PA to take part in the Coaches vs. Cancer at Geneva College on Friday afternoon. The Patriots took on the University of Mount Union Purple Raiders. The Patriots fell by a final score of 82-48.
The Patriots started well.
Sean Word converted an easy layup and on the Patriots next possession,
Cody Collins drilled a trey to give Valley Forge a 7-5 lead. Unfortunately, The Purple Raiders started to heat up. Mount Union went on a 17-1 run to open up a 22-8 lead with 8 minutes remaining in the half. UMC continued to shoot well. The Purple Raiders knocked down 6 3-pointers which led to a 42-18 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same. Valley Forge played a stronger second half by going 5-13 from long range and 3 of 4 from the charity stripe. The Patriots fell by a final score of 82-48.
