Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Soccer Team welcomed the Kings College (NY) Purple Knights to UVF on Saturday afternoon. The Patriots won their third game in a row in convincing fashion by taking down the Purple Knights 7-0.
The Patriots poured it on all afternoon.
Cayleen Conrad got the scoring party started in the 5th minute after she received a beautiful pass from
Emily Hinton. Conrad's shot went into the bottom left of the goal to put the Patriots up 1-0. After assisting on the first UVF goal,
Emily Hinton scored her 6th goal of year in the 26th minute. Hinton put her shot into the top center of the goal after an assist from
Megan Firth. Valley Forge led 2-0 midway through the first half. A little over a minute later, the Patriots picked up their 3rd goal. This time it was
Carlee Conrad who found
Cayleen Conrad.
Cayleen Conrad took a shot and the ball sailed into the top right corner of the goal. In the 30th minute, Valley Forge continued their scoring barrage. Emily scored her second goal of the contest after she found herself one on one against the Purple Knight keeper. Hinton beat the Kings College keeper to give UVF their 4th goal and the route was on.
Valley Forge did not let up as the second half began. The Patriot defense continued to make it a long afternoon for the Purple Knights. The Kings College NY only managed to attempt one shot on the afternoon. Valley Forge added three more goals including two by
Alondra Hernandez-Garduno and
Cayleen Conrad. Hernandez-Garduno's two goals brings her current season total to 15.
Cayleen Conrad completed her hat trick in the 50th minute to give her 5 goals on the season. UVF won convincingly by a final score of 7-0. The Patriots 3 game winning streak has improved their record to 7-4 on the year. This is the most wins for the Women's Soccer program since the 2008 season.
