Allentown, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Basketball team traveled to Allentown, PA to take part in game 1 of the Scotty Wood Tournament that is being hosted by Muhlenberg College. The Patriots fell to the Lycoming Warriors by a score of 81-52.
After five minutes in the first quarter, the Patriots were able to keep the score close and then explode to a 10-2 run. The 10-2 run put the Patriots ahead by a score of 17-11. Lycoming closed out the quarter with a pair of free throws to make the score 17-13 after one period of play.
After the first frame, it looked as though UVF came to play. From the start of the 2
nd quarter things went south. UVF only managed one field goal and a pair of free throws in quarter #2. Valley Forge was unable to recover and took their first loss of the young season. The Patriots fell by a final score of 81-52.
A Look at the Numbers
Jhanel Brown led the Patriots on the offense with 13 points while
Bailey Mayforth added 11. Lycoming shot 48% while UVF shot 32% from the field.

The Patriots will play the winner of the game between Muhlenberg College and Notre Dame (MD) on Saturday, November 18
th. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
