LANCASTER, PA- The Patriots traveled to Lancaster Wednesday for a game vs. the 8-8 Chargers of Lancaster Bible College.
The scoring would come early and often for the Chargers. As they put up 7 in the 1
st, 5 in the 2
nd, 1 in the 3
rd, and 7 in the 4
th in route to a 20-0 5 inning victory. The Patriots committed only 2 errors, but walked 11. They also allowed 13 hits.
At the plate, the Patriots never could find their swing, as they were no-hit in the short 5 inning contest. The lone Patriot base runner came in the top of the 5
th when Charlotte Rutowski drew a walk. She reached second on an error, but was unable to get any
further.
For Lancaster, Smucker and Kane led the charge as each tallied 3 RBIs and 2 hits. Collins and D'Arrigo combined for the no-hitter striking out 10.
The Patriots return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Washington, D.C. for a DH vs. Trinity Washington University.
