Owls Sweep DH from Patriots

PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The University of Maine Presque Isle Owls, traveled to face UVF in a double-header Wednesday. Once again the Patriots' pitching and defensive woes would continue, as the Owls would win both games, 26-6, and 21-0.

GAME 1
In the 1st inning, the Patriots sneaked out of the top half only giving up 3, which could have been a lot worse. They would answer with 1 of their own in the bottom half to make it 3-1. Joey Gacesa hit a single down the line past the first baseman to score

Waldo Odens Jr. By the 4th, the Owls had built their lead up to 19-2. The Patriots would score 4 in the bottom half of the

Inning to make it 19-6. Waldo Odens Jr. and Ryon McGinness both had RBI singles, and David CastroWard had an RBI double in the inning.

The Owls would score 7 more runs to finish the game, and your final score would be 26-6.

The Patriots committed 6 errors, and walked 18 batters. That combined with the Owls 15 hits was the clear difference in the game.

Game 2
Game 2 faired similar to game one, just this time the Patriots bats did not show up. The Patriots were limited to only 4 hits, and were not able to score. This is the 6th time they have been shutout this season.

The Owls plated 2 runs in the 1st for the early 2-0 lead. They would then put up 6 more in the 2nd. After a quiet 3rd in which they scored only 1 run, the Owls would really open up the game with a 7 run 4th making it 16-0. They would push across 5 more, for

your final, 21-0.

Again the Patriots committed 6 errors in the field. They were able to limit the walks to 9 in game 2 which is 9 less than game 1.

The Patriots will be back in action on Friday, when they host SUNY Polytech in a double-header. First pitch is scheduled for 2pm.
