PHOENIXVILLE, PA-The Falcons of Cedar Crest College traveled to Phoenixville last night, to take on the Patriots in a double header. A solid offensive showing would be all the Falcons needed as they would win both games 13-1, and 29-3.
Game 1The Falcons would jump out early, as Kaylee Martinez would lead off the game with a homerun to left. The Falcons bats were alive, and Martinez would add another homer in the Falcons 5 run fifth inning. They would total 13 runs on 14 hits, and capitalize on the Patriots 6 errors.
The Patriots lone run would come in the bottom of the fifth when
Amanda Grief would score on a wild pitch.
Lindsay LeSueur would lead the Patriots going 2-3 at the plate.
Â
Game 2The big innings would be the Patriots downfall in game 2. The Falcons hot bats would stay, as they put up 4 in the first, 14 in the second, and 11 in the third. Again, the story would be Martinez as she hit her 3
rd homerun of the night. The Falcons would score their 29 runs on 26 hits.
For the Patriots, the offense would come from two 3-sport athletes in
Lindsay LeSueur and Gabbi Rodriguez. LeSueur would go 1-2 with a double and a run scored, and Rodriguez would tally 2 RBIs with her triple in the second.
Rachel Daniels picked up the Patriots 3
rd RBI when she grounded out to score LeSueur in the fourth.
