ANKENY, IA- After losing to #3 seeded Grace Bible College (Grace was the National Runner-Up), UVF took on #7 Pensacola Christian College in the 5^th place bracket. The Patriots would fall to the Eagles 71-65, ending their season. 

The Patriots had 4 players score in double figures. Devin Williams led the way with 14. Jerome Staley had 13. Both Sean Word and DeAndre Gadsden had 12 each.

Half way through the 1^st, the Eagles were out to a 10 point lead, 16-6. The Patriots would fight back, but with 5 minutes to go the Eagles again made it a 10 point lead 24-14. Sean Word would hit a jumper at the end of the period to make the half time score 30-21 in the Eagles favor.

In the 2^nd, with 11:26 to go Jalen Archer hit a 3 to bring the margin down to 5, 47-42. Just about a minute later the lead was down to 1. That was the closest the Patriots would get, as the Eagles would stay strong and hold on to a 71-65 victory.

All was not lost for the Patriots this season. After a rough start, they came out of the Mid-East Region Tournament as Champions. Also, the team had 0 seniors, so they will return a good core of players next season.
