Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Volleyball team traveled to New York to take the Culinary Institute of America Steels (CIA). UVF lost 3 sets to 1.
The last regular season volleyball game didn't play out as the Patriots had hoped. UVF jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first set but a resilient CIA team fought back and took game one by a score of 25-23. In game 2 it was back forth scoring almost the entire way through with neither team taking control until the end. CIA was able to string together 5 straight points to win game 2 by a score of 25-20. The Patriots needed to win the third game to stay alive and force a fourth game and that is exactly what they did. UVF jumped out to a commanding 19-8 lead. In the third game the Patriots had five aces. UVF went on to win the third game 25-15. Unfortunately for the Patriots CIA went on to close out the match in what would be the fourth and final set. CIA took the final game by a score of 25-20. With the loss the Patriots drop their record to 7-17.
