PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer Team played host to Gallaudet University on Thursday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Bison found two second half goals to give them a 2-0 victory. For the Patriots, this was the second time this week they've led a close one get away. They lost 2-1 earlier in the week to Penn State Mont Alto.
Patriots goalie
Alan Verone Jr. did a good job of keeping things even in the first half, picking up 6 saves on 11 shots from Gallaudet. There were also many opportunities for the Patriots offense as they manufactured 6 shots of their own. Neither team found the back of the net in the opening frame.
11 minutes into the second half, Gallaudet struck first on a goal from Brian Espanto. 9 minutes later, they doubled their advantage with a goal from Gabriel Carino. It was all they needed as the Bison kept good formation and limited the Patriots to just 5 second half shots. Patriots
Preston Saunders led the team in shots with 3, all of them were shots on goal.
The Patriots will have about a week off before their next contest at home against Arcadia University on Wednesday, September 30th at 4:30PM.
