POWELL, TN – Playing their fourth game in five days, the University of Valley Forge Men's Basketball Team did not look like a team with tired legs on Saturday, February 14
th. Their final game of the road trip was played against The Crown College of The Bible Royal Crusaders. The Patriots stormed out to a big lead and did not look back. They won by a final score of 85-49
.After just four minutes of play, the Patriots built an early 10-0 lead.
Kevin Mack had an outstanding half of basketball. He scored 14 points on 6-7 shooting, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 5 assists, and had 3 steals in 13 minutes of action.
Jonathan Kinyanjui came off the bench and knocked down two 3-pointers for the Patriots.
Defensively, the Patriots suffocated the Royal Crusaders, forcing them to shoot 20.7% in the first half, including 0-13 from behind the 3-point line. Every shot was contested and the smaller Patriots controlled the boards, 26 to 14. The score at halftime was 46-17.
The Patriots continued their strong play into the second half, and cruised on to victory, 85-49.
Jean LeBlanc was the other Patriot in double figures, scoring 15 points, including 3-4 from 3-point range. The team racked up 21 assists and shot 54% for the game.
This is the Patriots longest winning streak of the season, now six games. After a long road trip back home, they have to be ready to play Monday night against a tought New Jersey City University team. The game will be played at 8PM, following the women's game.
Monday night will also be Senior Night. Two seniors will be honored,
Jean LeBlanc and
