DOYLESTOWN, PA- The baseball team wrapped up the 2014 season with a road game hosted by Delaware Valley College. Feeling the fatigue of the end of the season and school year, the Aggies bested the visitors in both games, 0-22 in game on and 4-20 in game two.
The Aggies blanked the Patriots in game one, leaving them with just two hits over seven innings. Game two showed a bit more action for the visitors, earning four runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Down 0-20, the Patriots refused to give up. Loading the bases with their first three batters,
Jared Boothman recorded a double to bring home Matthew McKenzie and
Josh Strohm, while placing
James Comenzo on third and holding himself at second base.
Steven Profetto grounded out to second base but provided enough time to advance Comenzo home and Boothman to third, making the score now 3-20. The team recorded their final run with a single from
Jonathan Hadinger to have Boothman cross home plate. The Aggies were able to get the final two outs before the Patriots could record any more runs and close out the game.
Matthew McKenzie ended the day going 2-for-4 with one run while
Jared Boothman went 1-for-3 with two RBI's and one run.
Jonathan Hadinger went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
The team ends the season with a final record of 1-26. They say goodbye to two seniors, four year player Matthew McKenzie and first year player
Jonathan Hadinger.
Go Patriots!
