CIRCLEVILLE, OH- The Patriots ended their post season run with a win over No. 10 Kuyper College. The men trailed the Cougars by one point at the half, 43-44, but outscored them 51-40 in the second half to walk away with a final season victory of 94-84!
Looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Pensacola Christian College the previous day, the Patriots started off slower than desired. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the first half, with the Cougars shooting 51% (17-33) and the Patriots shooting 53% (17-32). As time ran out in the first period, the Cougars headed to their locker room with the one point lead, 44-43.
As the second act got underway, the teams continued to battle. The cougars remained hot from the floor, shooting 57% but the Patriots controlled the boards, grabbing 17 rebounds compared to the Cougars 10. Regardless of shots or boards, the game came down to free throws. The Patriots sank 14 of their 16 free throws, while the Cougars went just 4-for-5. Building their cushion the Patriots ran out the clock to capture one last season victory!
Kevin Mack shined in the game, recording a game high of 26 points along with eight rebounds.
Jean LeBlanc notched 16 points of his own, going 4-for-7 beyond the arc.
Lance Harris and Tony Malone tallied 13 points apiece with Harris grabbing nine boards and five assists.
Demitrius Muse has 12 points on the night.
