PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The women's basketball team ended their 2013-2014 campaign with their final season game against Central Penn College, Saturday, February 22. Battling against injurying and illness, the women lost to the Knights' with a final score of 48-73.
The Patriots found themselves anchored early in their game, unable to get into an offensive groove. Without top shooter
Mikala Brinson, the Patriots had little time to create chemistry on the floor with their new lineup. Relying on their defense, the women were able to slow the Knights' momentum through half of the first period. With a limited bench, fatigue set in and the Knights' were able to pull away from the Patriots and seal the win.
Before the start of the game, the Department of Athletics recognized two senior women's basketball players. Forward
Stephanie Kriegbaum and guard
Shannon Peters were thanks for their time and dedication to the program over the past year.
Amanda McGinness recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 19 rebounds and 19 points.
Taniyah Faison scored 14 points, with four assists and steals.
The women's basketball team finished their season with a record of 3-22. With the nearly the entire team returning for the 2014-2015 season, next year will be one to watch.
Go Patriots!
