MEDIA, PA- The University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer Team competed in their final regular season road match, Sunday, October 19. The team traveled to Penn State Brandywine hoping to capture their second victory of the weekend but were foiled with a 2-10 loss.
The Lions jumped on the Patriots early, recorded two goals in the first twenty minutes, both from Bill Walleekendeh. Five minutes later
Selom Dodoh put the Patriots on the board with a pass from
Preston Saunders to reach the back of the net for a goal. The men now trailed just 1-2! Less than three minutes later and not satisfied with just scoring one goal, Dodoh penetrated the Lion's defense and scored once again to tie the game, 2-2!
After recording their second goal, the Patriots seemed to run out of steam. Over the course of the remaining half and into the second, the men saw their chances of winning fade away. The Lions recorded three more goals before halftime and went into the locker room, 2-5. Unfortunately the bleeding didn't stop there. The Lions continued to prey upon the exhaustion of the Patriots and recorded an additional five goals in the second half. By the time the whistle blew, the Patriots faced a 2-10 loss.
The men return home for their final game of the regular season, hosting Penn State Beaver, Tuesday, October 21. The game is set for a 4PM start!
Go Patriots!
