WINSTON-SALEM, NC- The Patriots swept the Piedmont International Classic with a win against Welch College, Saturday, January 11. The men held a comfortable lead for the entire game, finishing with a final score of 84-49!
Welch would score the first bucket of the game, but it would be the only lead they would claim. A full court pressure defense forced the Flames to repeatedly turn the ball over and rocket the Patriots into an early double digit lead for the remainder of the game. The Patriot bench was able received significant playing time, with more than half of the team's points coming from off the bench.
Four Patriots recorded double-digit points for the night.
Lance Harris recorded 13 points,
Kevin Mack notched 14 points, and
Antonio Malone and
Zachary Camporese tallied 11 points apiece
Lance Harris was named tournament MVP. Harris averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds,5.6 assists, and 2.3 steals during the tournament.
The Patriots take a week to rest before their next game against St. Joseph's College (NY). The men host the Bears on January 22 at 8 pm.
