HARRISBURG, PA – The Valley Forge Christian College Lady Patriots soccer team faced a very tough and physical opponent in Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday, September 5 and fell to the Lions by a 0-12 final score.
The Lady Patriots fought off the offensive attack for the first several minutes, but after PSU Harrisburg get on the scoreboard in the eleventh minute, Valley Forge could not contain the speedy Lions team.
Head coach Karla Polli said of the team effort; "We played a tough first half but when McGinness got hurt in the second, it gave us little time to adjust ad we were caught off balance. Kelli Noecker, Rachel Stormes and Elizabeth Swan all played solid for us."
Up next for Valley Forge will be the season home opener for the Lady Patriots on Saturday, September 7, when they host the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin College (Staunton, VA). Mary Baldwin comes into this game holding 2-0 record, but the Lady Patriots are looking to defend their home field. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
Go Patriots!
