Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Patriots Fall on Senior Day

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The Valley Forge Christian College women's soccer team lost to The King's College (New York, NY) by an 8-1 final score on Saturday, October 19.

Junior Kelli Noecker got things rolling for the Patriots as she scored her third goal of the season in the eighteenth minute of play. That is all the offense the Patriots could muster as the Lions rattled off eight straight goals.

After trailing by a 2-1 halftime deficit, Valley Forge found themselves in the midst of a competitive and winnable game until The King's College began pouring on the offense.

Noecker led the team in shots on goal with 3 on the day. Elizabeth Swan, Rachel Stormes and Melanie Brletic each recorded a shot on goal as well.
Junior goal keeper Amanda McGinness recorded nine saves on the day.

Prior to Saturday's game, the VFCC Athletic Department honored seniors Elizabeth Swan and Stephanie Kriegbaum for their commitment to the women's soccer team as they conclude their fourth years playing in a Patriots uniform.

Also prior to Saturday's game, the VFCC Athletics Department and the women's soccer team honored the Department of Student Life as a part of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, for their dedication to Valley Forge student-athletes.
