PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The men's soccer team hosted The King's College Saturday, October 19, in their final home game of the regular season.  The Patriots recorded the first goal of the game but the Tigers would walk away with the victory, 1-3.

In the first stanza, the Patriots' immediately controlled the game.  Moving the ball around the field and using precise footwork, the team created an open shot.  Matt McKenzie kicked the ball at the goal but the Tiger's goalie managed to get in front of it just in time to block it.  Off the deflection, Matt Robinson moved in fast to catch the goalie off balance and hit the back of the net, putting the Patriots on the board, 1-0.

The Patriots' defense continued to prevail over the Tigers, keeping their one goal lead secure, until the final seconds of the half.  With five second left to go, a short pass from the Patriots was intercepted by the Tigers Noah Schiers, free from all defenders, Schiers last obstacle was the Patriots' goalie.  Attempting to kick the ball over the goalie, Schiers hit the cross bar, but his teammates were right there to back him up, capturing the deflection and passing to Veassna Sang, who beat out the goalie and put the Tigers on the board to tie, 1-1, as time ran out.

Coming back for the second half, the Patriots seemed unable to overcome the shock of the Tiger's goal.  The visitors would record two more goals at the 53:52 minute mark and the 88:37 minute mark, taking the victory with a final score of 1-3.

At the beginning of the game, the Department of Athletics honored the three seniors from the men's soccer team, Matt McKenzie, Jacob Baldwin and Jon Hadinger.  Thank you for all your dedication to the team and the program!
