PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The Valley Forge Christian College women's basketball team got back to their wining ways on Thursday (Jan. 31), defeating the Falcons of Cedar Crest College by a final score of 64-38. The Lady Patriots jumped out to a big 31-11 first half lead and were able to cruise to victory.
Leading the Lady Patriots tonight was the senior duo of
Amanda Reich and
Amanda Compton. Reich and Compton finished with the games only double-doubles. Reich ended with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Compton ended with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Not to be outdone, senior
Morgan Godwin finished with a game high 21 points, all coming from beyond the three-point arc.
Senior
Vanity Jones added 9 points and 15 rebounds to her season tally.
The Lady Patriots were able to outrebound the Falcons 53-20, including grabbing 35 defensive boards.
Up next for Valley Forge will be a road trip to Washington, D.C. on Saturday (Feb. 2) to face Trinity Washington University. The Lady Patriots defeated Trinity Washington earlier this season by a closer than expected 48-42 margin.
